Tessa is a specialised children's physiotherapist and yoga teacher based in South West London. Over the past five years, she has worked across different specialist areas within paediatric physiotherapy at 3 highly reputable London hospitals.
Through her work, Tessa has developed a passion for supporting the physical and mental wellbeing of children and young people. This has naturally led her to pursue further training as a yoga teacher, allowing her to share the benefits of yoga with the young people she works with.
Physiotherapy:
Tessa has over 5 years experience working with infants, children and teens with a variety of conditions. Much of her career has been spent working within the hospital setting, primarily in neurology and oncology for children. Tessa has also worked with children who have sustained injuries, long term disabilities and infants with developmental delay. Prior to working with children, Tessa worked with adults in orthopedics and musculoskeletal outpatients.
Tessa has experience working with children and young people with complex physical and mental health conditions including chronic fatigue, long covid chronic pain, functional neurological disorders, ADHD and ASD.
Yoga:
Tessa completed a 200 hour Ashtanga/Vinyasa yoga teacher training in January 2023. Following this, Tessa went on to complete a 60-hour Foundation to Yoga Therapy training with Teen Yoga, equipping her to share yoga and mindfulness with Teens and Adolescents.
Tessa then completed a 50 hour children's yoga and mindfulness course for ages 2-11. This course was pure magic, inspiring Tessa to bring creativity, curiosity and play to her yoga teaching. Tessa is passionate about making these classes fun and accessible, encouraging children to feel confident within themselves and their physical capabilities, enabling autonomy and decision making and introducing simple mindfulness techniques from a young age.
